Calling all Blue Hengineers! The College of Engineering is hosting its annual Alumni & Friends Lawn Party . Formerly known as the “MechE Family Cookout,” this year’s event welcomes all breeds of Hengineers (Chemies, Elegs, Civies) to join the party on the front lawn of Spencer Lab. We’ll have food, drinks, music, lawn games, and free College of Engineering swag. Catch up with your classmates, profs, and the rest of the Hengineering flock.

Prez Run

Join UD President Laura Carlson for a 5k fun run around campus. Run starts at 8:30 a.m. at Mentors' Circle (The Green between Memorial Hall and the Library), rain or shine. Light refreshments will be available at the finish line. Participants will receive a UD giveaway.

Open House & Curatorial Tours of Blank Canvas: 1920s Fashion

Join us for special tours of the exhibition Blank Canvas: 1920s Fashion to explore how the chemise silhouette offered limitless creative possibilities for conveying the 1920s zeitgeist. The apparel emerged as armor for the new modern woman, providing a platform to communicate their identity and ideals.
The exhibition showcases more than 60 garments from the Fashion and Textile Collection in the Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies along with digital twins—virtual reproductions of selected fragile garments.
Led by co-curators Dilia Lopez-Gydosh, Belinda T. Orzada and Kelly Cobb, tours will be offered at 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and the exhibition will be open for alumni and the general public to view from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Rediscover Earth's Treasures at the Mineralogical Museum

Join us during Alumni Weekend at the Mineralogical Museum in Penny Hall to explore more than 300 minerals from our permanent collection, along with two exhibitions: Quartz and The Vibrant World of Lead Minerals.
Quartz features recent acquisitions, an important specimen from Pennslvania, early DuPont collection examples and a "mystery" crystal donated by Quaesita Drake, for whom Drake Hall is named.
Also on view, The Vibrant World of Lead Minerals reveals the unexpected beauty of lead-based minerals through brillant, colorful specimens from around the world, including examples from Australia, Namibia, Morocco and the United States.
Visit us to reconnect with the beauty, history and brillance of the Mineralogical Museum.

Fresh from the Field: Inside UD’s Organic Vegetable Farm

Step onto UD's Newark Farm and experience three acres of organic vegetables up close! Tour the fields as they transition from spring to summer production, taste fresh-picked vegetables straight from the soil, and get your questions answered on growing practices, variety selection, and plant care.
- Capacity is limited, so register early
- All ages welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult
- Held outside on a working farm with uneven surfaces; closed-toe shoes you don't mind getting dirty are recommended
From Asphalt to Arboretum: The Next Chapter of UD Botanic Gardens
Cost: $10 per person
Learn how the grounds surrounding UD's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources evolved into the present day Botanic Gardens. We'll explore how early teaching specimens and research plots developed into dynamic landscapes that now serve students, visitors, and lifelong learners. Following this brief presentation, we'll tour the future site of the Townsend East Lawn and Garden, a transformative space that will convert an existing parking lot into a welcoming and connective greenspace. Attendees will receive a small plant or seed packet to take home at the program conclusion.
Get the Buzz on Bees!
Cost: $10 per person
UD maintains approximately 60 honey bee colonies which are used for teaching, research, and outreach, as well as making honey and other products of the hive. Come visit our on-campus teaching apiary to see the hives in action! You will get to learn about the structure of a hive, beekeeping through the seasons at UD, our current projects, and how we process honey. Each registered participant will get to take home a beeswax candle made here at UD. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves for an up-close look at our honey bees and our honey production!

- Children under 18 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult
- Recommended age for this experience is 10 years and older
- Held in a working apiary with bees and the potential for stings. Those with bee allergies should not attend.
Cow to Cone: Behind the Scenes at UDairy Creamery
Cost: $15 per person
Follow the journey from Cow to Cone and Cow to Curd! Tour UD's dairy herd and milking process, visit the Genuardi Food Innovation Lab for a cheese sample, and meet our Holstein cows. Then, leave with a coupon for a free small scoop of ice cream at our Flagship or Cafe location.
Recommended for ages 10+. Requires walking ~0.2 miles (elevators available in Townsend Hall).

College of Arts & Sciences Live on the Lawn
